Catch them now: Pokémon Go now live in Singapore

Pokémon fans, get your power banks and mobile data plans ready

It's the moment Pokémon fans have been waiting for: Pokémon Go is now live in Southeast Asia, since early this morning.

In a Facebook post, developer Niantic confirmed the app to be live in the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.

As of press time, Pokéstops and Pokémon have been spotted in Malaysia and Singapore, with excited players uploading pictures of their Pokémon Go journeys on social media.

So far the servers have been stable but the Pokémon Go Nearby tracker has yet to return to the app, meaning players will have to keep their apps on to detect nearby Pokémon.

You can download the app from the App Store and Google Play for free, though there will be optional in-app purchases as usual.

A reminder to Pokémon Go trainers everywhere: stay safe and avoid dangerous or restricted areas. May you catch them all!
