If size matters, the Oppo R7 Plus is probably the right phablet for you.
We’re not just talking about the dimensions. While this monstrous phablet comes with a 6in edge-to-edge screen, its 4100mAh battery is the showstopper here. Add to the fact that the R7 Plus has the same VOOC fast charging technology that fuels the massive battery from zero to 75% in a mere 30 minutes, and you’ll never need a power bank.
Its hardware list is almost identical to its smaller R7 sibling, throwing Qualcomm’s octa-core 1.5GHz processor, 3GB of RAM and a dual-SIM setup into the mix.
The R7 Plus, however, has a bigger bag of tricks to differentiate it from the R7. For one, its rear 13MP camera is aided by a laser focus to target a subject within 0.3 seconds. Oh, and that 8MP front camera too, with a less aggressive beautify mode that won’t make your facial features look unnatural. Likewise, the fingerprint sensor at the rear keeps your phone safe from prying eyes, with a simple touch to unlock it with no fuss.
For all that, the Oppo R7 Plus is priced at S$699, which means it won’t put a huge dent in the bank. Add in the subsidy from a two-year contract with either M1 or Singtel, and you've got yourself a crazy cheap phablet.
Considering how most phablets with its specs cost upwards of S$800 to nearly S$1000, this phablet joins Xiaomi’s Redmi Note as one of the most affordable options in the market right now.
