Razer’s first phone has a screen that’s as smooth as silk

Gaming mega-corp Razer has taken a break from giving desktop PCs more lights than Oxford street at Christmas to unleash its first ever smartphone – and as you’d expect, it’s firmly focused on gamers. The imaginatively-named Razer Phone uses the same adaptive display refresh tech as high-end gaming monitors, only here it works both ways. On the Android homescreen, the 5.7in, 2K display drops all the way down to 20fps to save battery life, but cranks up to 100fps for silky smooth frame rates in games. The gunmetal grey phone also has a super-speedy Snapdragon 835 and 8GB of RAM, so there’s nothing it won’t be able to play smoothly. Add in front-firing stereo speakers, a massive 4000mAh battery and dual cameras for zoomed-in photos, and you’ve got a no compromise gaming monster that slides into your pocket.
