Stuff Singapore Readers’ Choice Awards 2015 - meet the Smartphone of the Year finalists

Which smartphone deserves this glorious accolade?

We’ve seen a lot of hits, as well as a fair share of misses, shaking up the smartphone industry this year.

Some were predictable upgrades, others took us by surprise. From fine tuning camera software to innovative features, here are a few of our absolute favourites and we’d love for you to help us select the smartest of them all.

Apple iPhone 6s

Although it’s an ‘s’ upgrade, this time the changes are significant. Aside from 3D Touch and the blink-and-you-miss-it fingerprint sensor shaving precious seconds off your iPhone usage, it’s also been buttered up with iOS 9. And that trusty camera on your trusty iPhone? It’s been bumped up to a sharper 13MP shooter and decked out with 4K shooting. Amazing stuff.

HTC One M9

You simply cannot dismiss the One M9’s gorgeous brushed metal curves. And it looks just as good on the front with its 1080p 5in screen. Underneath the hood’s a generous 2840mAh battery and octo-core Snapdragon 810 engine. It also comes with a microSD card slot to boost memory up to an expansive 160GB in total to store those stunning 20MP snaps.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung’s flagship is a mobile powerhouse decked out with a 1.5GHz octo-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a hefty 2550mAh juicebox. Armed with a 16MP snapper that turns out beautiful images for you to ogle at on its vibrant display, the Galaxy S6 is not mucking around with competing for your affection.

Sony Xperia Z5

With a camera sensor that rivals that of your average compact, the Sony Xperia Z5 is an imaging force to be reckoned with. Add an octo-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, and a sweet 1080p screen into the mix, you get a smartphone that’s snappy in more ways than one. And it’s waterproof to boot.
