On my hands, is the Canon EOS 1200D and it was refreshing to be able to try something newer compared to my trusty EOS 550D.
So for the past week, I’ve replaced my EOS 550D with the new DSLR and of course, it hasn’t disappointed me at all.
Also known as the Digital Rebel T5, the EOS 1200D is a very good entry-level DSLR, perfect for beginners who are exploring the DSLR world.
It has an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Digic 4 image processor (which is not Canon’s newest processor but definitely good enough as tested), 3fps continuous shooting, 9-point auto focus module, ISO 100-6400 sensitivity, creative filters, full HD manual video and many other awesome functions. It is also lightweight at 480g, perfect for ladies like me to carry around in our bags for everyday use.
Technical details aside, if you are a beginner and looking to get a DSLR, look no further because the EOS 1200D is known for being value-for-money, yet very user friendly. Let me take you through some of the photos I took with the EOS 1200D.
I took the EOS 1200D with me during my nail appointment and decided to snap some shots, so enjoy!
I am using the kit lens (18-55mm) which offers an equivalent 28.8-88mm and basically, using the Aperture Priority mode is good enough for my daily photo taking. I played around with the aperture, exposure and ISO most of the time, besides close-up shots where I’ll use the Close-up (Macro) mode.
This DSLR also has a creative filter function that you can immediately use after a photo is being snapped. My favorite filters are the fish-eye, miniature effect and the toy camera. They are easy to use, and bring a completely different perspective and feel to the photos you have just taken, without even using Photoshop!
