Jabra's new earphones come with a free personal trainer

Jabra is here to help you through your sweaty struggles at the gym

Danish audio brand Jabra has changed up the sports headphone game with its new Sport Coach wireless earbuds.

If used in tandem with the Jabra Sport Life app, the headphones allow users to design a workout that suits them, following it to the letter thanks to in-ear audio coaching. Now you can get all the encouragement you need to struggle through that tenth sit up without the awkward presence of a personal trainer barking in your ear.

Yes, we know we’re about to sound like a motivational speech from Rocky IV but, thanks to these headphones, getting through your workout will all be in your head. The new earphones use a TrackFit motion sensor to help you log every rep, set and circuit you can muster.

Premium Dolby sound quality will be pumped along to aid your workout, but in case you don’t like a track, the headset has remote controls (which can also be used to receive phone calls). 81% of consumers have said that they exercise to music, so the idea that you can work up a sweat while enjoying top notch audio is a sound one (no pun intended).

The Jabra Sport Coach was built with cross-training in mind, so the app is packed with over 40 different exercises to help plan your next session. When combined with the app, on a smartphone, you can introduce some real-time audio coaching into your personalised workouts. You strange, exercise-enjoying people you…

The app allows you to not only plan your sessions but track how they’re going, and later analyse where you’re going wrong to help you improve next time. It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie to the world of High Intensity Interval Training, the in-ear audio coaching will help you along with your time- or repetition-based training. Just don’t go all out straight away, you might go in wanting to look like the latest army recruit, and come out walking like Toy Story’s plastic soldiers.

Sport Coach will set you back £150 (S$320), which isn’t too bad given all the tech packed into these US Military standard sweat-, shock- and dust-resistant earphones. We haven’t even finished telling you what they can do! The TrackFit motion sensor housed in the earphones provides tracking for your pace, distance, step count, cadence and calories.

Jabra has already made quite a name for itself in the sports audio sector, with its Jabra Sports Pulse Wireless earbuds being one of the very few products to over in-ear heart rate monitoring. The new Jabra Sport Coach Wireless is aimed at all you cross trainers out there, which has been recognised as 2015’s top trend. For the right reasons of course, as it's something you can do everywhere. So don’t go blaming anyone or anything for you not fitting in a session, because with these new smart headphones, you have all the encouragement you need.
