The campers and the queuers in the iPhone 7 lines in Singapore

The early bird gets the iPhone 7 (or 7 Plus) of their choice

From the dedicated telco timeslots to the campers outside the stores, there was no shortage of people wanting to get their hands on the new iPhones.

We’ve covered the queues for a few years now and things are a lot more organised as compared to previous years. So while there are no crowds big enough to make you question the meaning of life, the enthusiasm was palpable, especially after they got to try the phones we had on hand.

Most were surprised at how different the Home button felt, while others were more concerned with checking out the new finishes. Here's what we realised after making our rounds.

  • Jet Black is the new Rose Gold
  • The iPhone 7 Plus is everyone’s favourite
  • Most people are plumping for the 256GB model

FYI, the iPhone 7 Plus and Jet Black models are said to be in short supply both globally and locally.

"We’re students living in Singapore. We’re getting the iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black, well, if they’re still available. Is the iPhone expensive? Not really, the price is alright. I used to use the 64GB iPhone 6s Plus but the space is really not enough. I’m going for the 256GB this time."
