[intro] The massive web mashup continues as YouTube clips added to Google Earth [/intro]
Want to zoom over the North Pole and enjoy footage of polar bears skidding on ice? Whisk yourself off to Hawaii and watch the latest surfing spectaculars? Jet off to Paris and witness a waiter being rude? News just in that Google Earth will support YouTube vids from today, which I have to say is a very cool idea.
Since Google swallowed the world of online video with the acquisition of YouTube it was only a matter of time before we started to see it mashed up into Google apps. And now desktop Magellans can watch YouTube clips about the places they visit in Google Earth, as this new layer places vids in their geographical context.
Just zoom in on any area that interests you and click to watch clips by YouTube users that have been there. I'd like to apologise to my bosses in advance for any downtime this might cause today...
