A big love for gadgets used to mean a healthy disrespect for exercise. No longer folks.
High–end toys, from Adidas’s miCoach to Nokia’s Sportstracker are here to heft our kebab–loving arses into shape.
And now you can add the iPhone to that list. According to patent watchers Unwired View, Apple is busy turning their might blower into a “lifestyle device” that’ll bring an end to your routine of casual web–surfing and endless gaming.
Word is that the iPhone will take on the roles of personal trainer, dietician and lifestyle companion.
The plan is to stick all your gory personal details through an app on your Mac, available through iTunes, with the iPhone then setting to work on a regime to get you fitter than Cheryl Tweedy in a Girls Aloud promo.
External sensors will apparently measure heart–rate, body temperature and the like, with the app even working around your iCal to tell you when to start pounding the streets.
You’ll even be able to shovel your eating habits onto your Mac, helping you work out a balanced diet without reading pearls of wisdom from ‘Dr’ Gillian McKeith.
