This weekend the Xbox 360 is donning its jester hat, clamping a pair of big white sunglasses to its face and living like a filthy animal in a tent.

Metaphorically, of course - we're talking about Xtival, a three-day entertainment event that'll be taking over Xbox LIVE.

Music fans can download an exclusive hi-def video of the title track from The Prodigy's new album Invaders Must Die (not out until March 2009), while owners of Guitar Hero World Tour will be able to get their mitts on a trio of tunes from Oasis' latest Dig Out Your Soul. Franz Ferdinand will also be offering up a new video from their forthcoming LP.

On the film front, LIVE users are promised access to exclusive content from the highly anticipated Watchmen, including seven hi-def "webisodes".

Other assorted games and movie-related loveliness is scheduled for the 28th to the 30th, and anyone with access to LIVE is invited. Finally, a festival where you're guaranteed decent grub (i.e. whatever's in your fridge) and freedom from mud.
