Xbox 720 to have Skype support

Microsoft's next-gen console could have in-game "voice experiences" powered by Skype tech

The Xbox 720 will feature Skype integration straight out of the box upon its estimated November 2013 release, if a recent job listing by Microsoft is anything to go by.

The advert in question shows that the software giant is looking for an individual who can help "enable in-game and in-console voice and video experiences" – and the position is tellingly based in Skype's London office.

It's far too early to say what we can expect to see, thoughThe Xbox 720 could swap out Xbox Live's existing chat system for some new Skype-based tech. Kinect video chat doesn't seem too far fetched either.

Here's hoping that the service will feature a 'game only' mode. You wouldn't want your mum ringing you up mid-headshot, would you?
