Steve Jobs has confirmed that Apple will be showing off their new OS, Snow Leopard, to developers at their Worldwide Developers Conference.

The new operating system isn’t expected to head out into the wild until next January at the earliest, probably ay Macworld 2009.

That should give developers plenty of time to root around and ensure we get loads of cool new features that’ll make the current incarnation, Leopard, look positively geriatric.

Jobs said devs will get a chance to look at the OS this afternoon before getting more hands on time.

Our man in San Francisco, Tom Dunmore, is liveblogging right now, so be sure to check it out for more OSX news and, of course, word on the 3G iPhone.
