Wirelessly spy on your own house with Be

We’ve all done it; left the house and suddenly thought ‘Oh blast, I’ve left the bath on’. Either you run home just to find out you were being paranoid, or you forget about it only to come home to a concrete goldfish bowl.

Be broadband is offering up a neater, cooler alternative: wirelessly connected home CCTV cams that beam images directly to your mobile. Spying remotely – much easier!

Once you’re bathing in Be broadband wireless waves, you set up the cams (pictured) round your house and arm then, cleverly, by pressing ‘armed’. The cam then records any movement it sees, up to 100 instances, and alerts you by text. Or you can check it out online. You can also watch a live feed, too, if you’re desperate to see how the cat gets up to the top bookshelf when you’re not around.

The £150 cost is a little steep, but this is one of the first packages of its kind in the UK so bare with it. You get email alerts near-unlimited access to your personal cam-viewing account, for those edited highlights and live feeds. Be also chucks in 100 SMS and 10MMS alerts each month.

The Be home monitor service is exclusive to Be customers, but if you’re dead against joining up you could always build your own wireless CCTV system. Be’s just made it easier, is all.

Now we can find out who’s been stealing our bins.
