Windows Phone ‘Mango’ to get over 500 new features

Microsoft announces bevy of improvements to its fledgling mobile OS. But is it enough to entice us away from Apples and ‘droids?

Microsoft has let loose details of all the new features that will infuse our Windows Phone handsets later this year. The official ‘Mango’ update will offer a barrage of improvements, including webOS-like multitasking, a location-based IE9 browser, Bing vision search and a fancier email inbox view. The new social thread feature also handily lets you seamlessly communicate with your friends via messenger, Facebook and SMS on a single screen. Choosing your next smartphone just got a little more complicated, as it’ll come to all existing WinPho handsets, too.
