Windows 7 Release Candidate out now

We were most impressed with the initial release of Windows 7 back in January, so it's great that Microsoft has rolled out the latest Release Candidate

Punters will find refined navigation around the Windows Taskbar, private browsing in Internet Explorer 8 (a la Incognito mode in Google Chrome) and Windows Touch for those packing touchscreen tech on their PC.

The big sell though is remote media streaming. As with Remote Play on the PS3 you'll be able to snag movies and other media from your machine wherever you are in the world, as long as you're on a Windows 7 PC.

However, the Big M was unable to tell us whether you'd need your home PC switched on at all times when we had a play with it yesterday. If so, that's a pretty big miss on their part. Hopefully you'll be able to fire it up remotely rather than leaving it on permanently.

The good news is that you can download it now for free and use it for the next year, with access expiring on 1 June 2010.
