If you're a student, you'll be able to nab Windows 7 for a reduced price of £30 from 30 September. See what they did there?

To tie-in with the start of the academic year, uni students can pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional from a dedicated website before the launch on 22 October.

Al you need to nab Windows 7 at a knock down price is a valid student email address (ending .ac.uk). The offer runs until 3 January 2010. Oldsters best get bothering your nieces and nephews now.

Meanwhile, we'd heard that Microsoft were asking people in the US to run house parties to celebrate the launch of Windows 7 next month. But guess what, UK Microsoft lovers can too.

If you sign up to celebrate the emergence of Microsoft's latest monolithic operating system, Microsoft Windows 7, and are approve you'll get a copy of the OS and Windows themed party favours.

All you need to do is visit the website to sign up and agree to finding nine people enthusiastic enough about Windows to come to a party in its honour.

Windows 7 house parties will be sweeping the nation between October 22 and October 27. Stuff Towers will be hosting our own Windows 7 launch party because hey, we're such a bunch of kerrrazy cats.

Are you going to sign up to organise your own Windows 7 house party? Will there be cupcakes? Can we come? Answer all these questions in the comments.

And if you're unsure about what Windows 7 actually is, head on over to our Windows 7 review to find out if the OS is for you.
