Forget the pant–wetting excitement that was last week’s news of Guitar Hero heading to the DS. Because now Harmonix has confirmed they’re bringing Rock Band to the Wii this summer.
The June release date remains a Stateside only affair, but the big news is that like its PS2–based cousin, the Wii version will not support online play.
The developer says this is because the revolutionary hub’s web potential has, “…yet to be fully realised.”
This also means there’ll be no downloadable content either, although the Ninty edition will come replete with five extra tunes to placate net–loving gamers.
The game will hit US wannabe rockers for $169, including all the instruments for getting down to it like Def Leppard in the front room.
Those of us with dreams of stardom here in the UK will have to wait though. Harmonix hasn’t announced a date for a release here in Blighty. Sob.
So while you nurse your broken dreams, why not check us out getting to grips with Rock Band in front of thousands of adoring fans (okay, our Mums) in Trafalgar Square.
