A Palm email recently popped in to our inboxes asking us to 'save the date!' for September 12th, suggesting, as Reuters reports today, that we'll get to play with the long-promised Windows Palm.
Reuters' story does shed one extra detail on the new handheld: according to Palm, it'll be on sale before the end of the year.
We already knew it'd be going on sale on Vodafone, would run Windows Mobile (5.0, presumably) and be 3G. We're now also wondering whether it'll go a step further and pack HSDPA, more commonly known as super 3G and capable of blistering 1.8 meg mobile broadband speed.
Recent history suggests it's unlikely. Voda launched its version of the HTC Hermes - a Windows slider phone - back in July, but isn't going to let it enjoy super 3G until a software update due in 2007. In the meantime, T-Mobile punters can buy the MDA Vario II and frolic at 1.8 meg out of their freshly unpacked boxes.
