Despite its monolithic NXT panel, the SX 2000 reproduces stereo sound thanks to its two clever and very exciting NXT exciters. As an added bonus, the sound is supposed to be pretty awesome (class-leading, they say) whether you're sat in front of or behind the speakers.
Aside from the huge whiteness of the NXT panel, the SX 2000 speakers are fairly run-of-the-mill. There's a conventional iPod dock connector with adaptors for all models including the Nano, plus a line-in for use with other audio sources. Controls on the front allow iPod power on/off and volume control, and your iPod will charge while docked. It's battery or mains-operated, which is nice.
We're told they'll be in the UK soon, but we've only got a US price to go on at the mo: $160. If nothing else, they're certainly a different way to fill your room with iPod music.
UPDATE: Don't get too excited yet - Kensington informs us the SX 2000 won't be available till mid-next year. Patience is a virtue.
