Valve's console goes up in steam

All steam and no boiling hot games hardware news from Valve as it clarifies new UI is coming, but no console

Valve, creator of Half-Life, was rumoured to be working on its very own console after a box leaked online. In reality, that box has turned out to be merely a testing platform for a new UI for Valve’s Steam gaming service.

The new Steam UI will make for a better service when your PC is connected to your TV, which is nice but not console nice. But all is not lost – Valve also revealed it's doing experiments using biometric feedback, and working on other designs, even if – according to its marketing director – “it's a long way from Valve shipping any sort of hardware.”
