It'll have more up its baggy sleeves come Monday, but today Samsung was happy to show off a sack of new phones at the CES press event. And some of them might even be coming to the UK.
Top of our wish list is the Ultra Music phone (left). It's only 9.4mm thick, has a 2MP camera and, a nice touch we think, a Bang & Olufsen-designed amplifier inside for some extra bass. There's only GPRS to complement the Bluetooth connectivity, but it does have A2DP for wireless headphones (bronze star), has an FM radio (silver star) and supports DRM-ed Windows Media files (gold star). It should be out in the UK in the latter half of this year.
In the middle is a Vegas-friendly portable e-mailer called the Blackjack. It's a fully-fledged Blackberry-botherer, with HSPDA connectivity (hooray for that), Wi-Fi and a full QWERTY keyboard to get around the Windows Mobile 5.0 apps. Considering there's also an MP3 player and stereo Bluetooth, it's a shame there's no UK plans for it as yet.
And what the hell is that on the right you ask? It's the Jitterbug, and doesn't really belong in such esteemed company seeing as it's only capable of making phone calls. But we're giving it a mention because the big buttons were easy to use and made us feel like a midget.
