The new MacBook might be giving the credit crunch the cold shoulder with its eye–watering price tag, but it's still one fearsome piece of kit. Tom Dunmore's already given his first impressions, taking you through everything you need to know.

But now our MacBook is safely back here at Stuff Towers, we just had to take a few snaps and get them up asap. At first it looks just like a MacBook Air with a dose of iMac looks chucked in for good measure.

Compared to the previous white version, it feels a tad lighter, with the new "Brick" design definitely giving it a more sturdy feel. It's thinner too, by 12 per cent. Not much, but enough for you to notice, especially thanks to those tapered edges.

We're working on a hands–on video now, so stay tuned for that and take a look at Tom's first impressions while you're at it.
