Twitter's taken drastic action to make sure follower counts actually show how many humans are obsessively following your tweets. It's led to a major purge of the pornbots and spammers, so you could find your follower count has dropped significantly.
Stuff.tv newdesk Twitter obsessive @brokenbottleboy saw a dip of 100 followers, while reports from our followers ranged from about 20 (@slytherinwench) to 100+ (@bloggerheads). But if your Twitter follower numbers have dropped don't worry, you won't have lost anyone real.
Meanwhile, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has announced that the site will debut a new homepage next week. The aim is to make people understand Twitter better, ditching the "what are you doing right now?" question for something a little bit more in depth.
Stone says the new Twitter homepage will allow new users to try Twitter before they sign up and present the service as a place where people can discover what is going on in real-time. This chimes with the company's aim, outline in documents leaked to Techcrunch, of becoming "the world's pulse".
