Twitter gets a major redesign

The social networking site gets a fresh lick of paint and rearranges its feng shui

Twitter has revealed a redesign of its site in a bid to keep the micro-blogging experience fresher, as well as making it easier to use.

Among the changes is a new discover feature for gaining more information on #hashtags and a new profile section in which fellow users can tweet directly to you, Facebook style.

Facebook update rage has taught us that people despise change, but we quite like the look of the cleaner home screen and the continuity of design between the new Twitter site and the refreshed Android and iOS apps is a welcome improvement.

You might not be greeted with the update straight away upon heading to the Twitter site, but it should only be a matter of time before you're tweeting what you had for breakfast from a shiny new layout.
