Most travel speakers suffer from having a slightly feeble set of pipes, but we think we’ve finally discovered the Bjorks of the market – they’re small, slightly eccentric and promise a foghorn-esque voice.

The Soundtravellers apparently use nifty electronics to help their aluminium and silicon-clad shells thunder out a noise that won’t struggle to fill your holiday room and possibly the corridor too.

As you can see from the iPod dock, their preferred partner is an Apple jukebox, but there is also a 3.5mm input to help it befriend other music players. All you need to do is choose between the black, blue, red and silver hues, feed it a AA battery (good for 12 hours) and your Travelodge will be enjoying the therapeutic sounds of Metallica in no time.
