Toshiba Qosmio X870 laptop’s got game

Your next foldable rig awaits – the new Toshiba Qosmio X870 has brains, beauty and stacks of gaming grunt

Clearly out for a slice of the gaming laptop pie, Toshiba has just announced the Qosmio X870.

We’ve had our hands all over it and can confirm it’s an absolute beast, with a rather snazzy dark aluminium chassis complete with red accents and backlit keys. Alienware should be worried.

The screen’s a bit special, too. At 17.3in with a 1920x1080p resolution and supremely fast 5ms response time, it should be more than capable of crisply displaying the latest games. It’s 3D, too, and you get two pairs of NVIDIA glasses in the box.

Full details of the internal components are yet to be confirmed, but Toshiba promises ‘the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA GPUs’, so you know what to expect.

Can Toshiba compete with the likes of Alienware and MSI in the gaming laptop arena? We’ll have a review up as soon as we lay our hands on a finished sample.
