The deadly robot assassins of the future won’t be life-size T-800s – they’ll be pocket-sized midgets, and Tomy’s tiny new i-Sobot is well qualified to be their leader.
At just 6.5in tall, he’s the world’s smallest humanoid robot and, as such, has earned himself a spot in this year’s Guinness World Records.
Much like Robosapien, he can dance, hula, kung-fu kick, play air guitar, perform push ups and do somersaults. Seventeen custom-designed actuators and a gyro sensor also give him astounding poise. But, perhaps crucially in the fight to lead the humanoid movement, he can’t yet cartwheel.
Still, i-Sobot can accept up to ten voice commands and, in remote control mode, perform a roundhouse that might just floor your cat Mabel. Certainly, a dance-off with Robosapien imminent – and it could get robotic.
