Top of the pile is the 6600 Slide, fully stacked with a 3.2MP camera, 3G for zooming round the net and Nokia Maps, which can be bulked out into full-scale GPS courtesy of the averagely-monikered LD-4W Bluetooth add-on.
But let’s face it, it’s what’s on the outside that matters. Here you’ll find a 2.2in QVGA screen, steel cover and aluminium centre key. Tapping the bod’ twice shows up the time, snoozes, alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls.
The 6600 Fold is the one that’s really caught our mobile conscious eye here at Stuff Towers. The clamshell might have a weenier screen than its Slide cousin, but it looks sharper than Henry Conway when closed and also packs the same double tap tech. Shame about the paltry 2MP camera. Still, at least it’s 3G.
The 3600 Slide, we’re told, “aims to win hearts”. But marketing guff aside, we’re looking at a tooled up phone and Nok’s first to feature background noise cancelling. Like Moto’s Crystal Talk but on a neater handset. Like the 6600 Slide, there’s a 3.2MP camera with 2 LED flash, 3G, Nokia Maps and good ol’ TV out for sticking your grainy gig bootlegs on your LCD.
We’re loving Nokia’s latest efforts, but just can’t help feeling like we’re being blinded by new toys to stop us pining after the much-hyped Nokia Tube.
