Talking holiday gadgets with Jo Whiley

It's my almost-monthly slot on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show today. We'll be chatting about holiday gadgets from noon, and as usual I've rounded up details

What's the camera for this summer?

When I'm thinking about decent holiday cameras, I usually turn to the Olympus waterproof range - the latest is the Olympus Mju 1030 SW (£250 - you can read our full review of the Mju 1030 SW here). It's 10.1 megapixel, has a nice wide-angle lens and, most crucially, is built to withstand water, shocks and sand.

But still pictures are so 20th Century, darling - so this year I'm going to take a cheap

videocamera with me too. There's been a lot of buzz in America about

a cheap vidcam called The Flip, but we reckon the Creative Vado (£80) is

better (you can read our Creative Vado review to find out why). Both cost less than £100, are about the size of a mobile phone

and allow you to capture decent quality video to memory. But what makes

them really special is that they have built-in USB connections and

on-board software that allows you to plug them into a PC and

immediately upload to YouTube or VideoJug. Which means you can share your holiday videos while you're still on holiday - so it's the perfect way to make
