Is it a phone? A UMPC perhaps? An internet tablet? Or maybe a PMP? Well, this is the point where we take a line from Steve Jobs' book of stagecraft and say: 'phone, UMPC, internet tablet, PMP – geddit?'Yes, this eminently luggable device is in fact all four, and it's coming to T-Mobile.Christened the Ameo, it's no iPhone in terms of beauty but it does get a luscious 5in VGA touchscreen, 8GB of storage, a 3MP camera and, unlike Apple's baby, 3G.Unfortunately it has to rely on Microsoft's clunky Windows Mobile 5.0 instead of slick Apple OS X but at least it's fuelled by a capable Intel XScale 624 MHz processor. At 133x97x20mm it’s less pocketable than iPhone and more unwieldy round the ear department but those measurements do include the rather natty magnetic keyboard that clips on to the base and furnishes Ameo with a full set of QWERTY keys – just don't leave it near any iron filings.
