Finally, the Android army is starting to mobilise. With Vodafone preparing to unleash the HTC Magic – read our full review – and Samsung announcing its I7500, more details on T-Mobile's successor to the G1 seem to have surfaced.
This leaked roadmap includes a photo of the so-called G1 Bigfoot – hopefully just a codename – which is slated for a release in late summer or early autumn.
It appears to have lost the much maligned 'chin' of the G1, going instead with rounded corners and, of course, a slide-out keyboard.
That could be good news for those who like to a dash of QWERTY in their Android brew; while the HTC Magic and Samsung I7500 are both svelte iPhone rivals, they rely purely on their touchscreens for e-mailing and web surfing. Not great if your digits are sized like Cumberland sausages.
With Acer, a confirmed fan of keyboard-equipped smartphones, also confirming an Android smartie for 2009, it looks like there'll soon be a Google phone for everyone.
