New Sony Xperia phones and rumours of a Canon DSLR reach Office Cat's ears today

Sony Xperia SP and Xperia L announced

Having unleashed its big guns this year in the form of the Xperia Z, Sony has unveiled a duo of mid-tier Android phones, the Xperia SP and Xperia L. The Xperia SP comes packing a 4.6in 72p display along with a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, LTE connectivity, NFC and an 8MP camera, and arrives running Android 4.1. Like last year's Xperia U, it features a transparent illuminated bar that can be set to different colours. The Xperia L is a lower-tier model with a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.3in, 854x480 pixel display, an 8MP camera, 8GB of internal memory and NFC and microSD support. It doesn't, however, include LTE connectivity – you'll have to stumble along on 3G if you opt for the Xperia L.
