The two pillars of modern gadgetry are the mobile and the MP3 player. At least, that’s what Levi’s Senior Vice President of Product You Nguyen told us when we jetted off to Paris, city of love and grumpy waiters, to see the firm’s new phone. Made from shiny stainless steel, the Levi’s phone is a tri-band handset with a 1.8in LCD screen, an MP3 player, A2DP Bluetooth, a 2MP camera and a micro SD card slot. The fashion folk weren’t forthcoming with more specs but talked our ears off about the styling. The phone comes with a detachable chain to allow you to fasten it to your jeans (Levi’s naturally) or your bag. It’ll come in metallic silver, black and brown copper, with ‘feminine’ mirrored screen versions also on the cards. Built in conjunction with Paris’s Modelabs, it’ll be available at a select range of stores. Deals with operators and contract prices remain very firmly under wraps. Look out for video from our playtime in Paris and a review very soon. First impressions? It’s no Prada phone but there’s a little bit of jean genius at work.Essentials Levi’s Mobile Phone Price: TBA On sale: September Contact: Levi’sRelated stories: Levi’s phone to spend one night in ParisJeans + pocket = $250 iPod Levi’s Gadget of the Day – LG Prada phone
