After checking out the latest Bond flick, Casino Royale, recently, Stuff towers has become a veritable den of 007-related sneaking about and spying. As Mr Bond is often surrounded by gadgets and tech we think we’re pretty well-equipped to emulate his undercover activities, but we never realised the extent to which this was true.Security genius Bruce Schneier has picked up on a study by the University of Washington, which highlights a few dodgy issues surrounding the Nike + iPod system that transmits data from a trainer-mounted sensor to your ‘Pod while you jog.Brucie says in his blog that the transmitter – which broadcasts a unique identifier – can actually be read from up to 60 feet away, meaning a canny snooper could theoretically use the device to spy on anyone using it.With so many Nanos and Nike + iPod kits kicking about the office, we think we might give it a try. After all, who really knows what our beloved editor gets up to on his lunch break?
