Grazia Designer of the Year Cath Kidston has teamed up with Nokia and Carphone Warehouse to knock out two limited-edition handsets. The Nokia 6111 and 6230i get to be smothered in a variety of frighteningly girly designs that, we’re reliably informed, sap the testosterone from your body and leave you a haunted shell of a man. A shell of a man that likes flowers and cute kittens. Chilling stuff. Still, if you’re after a present for the woman in your life, look no further. Having played around with DAB radios, Cath Kidston has moved on to phones and will eventually smother everything in classic, retro lady-prints before launching a despotic reign of terror over large portions of the globe. Makeover From her underground lair, Kidston rasped, ‘Mobile phones have become an essential part of every day life, so it was lovely to add a completely new twist to the one accessory we all can’t get by without. It’s important that your mobile phone functions well and is easy to use but there’s no reason why it can’t look gorgeous as well!’ Until we see her true colours, though, we’re quite happy to see Cath’s cheery prints adorning what are two very useful Nokia mobiles. They make us feel like petting a small puppy. Clearly we’re experiencing the early stages of ‘the change’.
