Sony readies Skype for PSP

Now then, now then, what have we got here? We thought Santa had finished his present-giving bonanza for the year, but no. It seems one more gadget gift is coming our way, courtesy of Sony.

The company dropped a rather large hint on its CES blog site (pictured) that Skype is coming to the PSP. "Call friends," it screams. "Talk trash to fellow gamers," it implores. "Catch up with acquaintances," it helpfully suggests.

How? "Via Skype for PSP system," of course.

PSP 'system'? All sounds a bit NES 'Nintendo Entertainment System': family sat round a 14in screen, wearing woolly jumpers, clutching a light gun and playing Duck Hunt…

Still, making free calls with Skype on the PSP is just what the Stuff doctor ordered. Toss in a built-in mic to replace the current Heath Robinson VOIP headsets and all our birthdays and Christmases will have come at once.
