Sony PSP digital reader brings comics to your handheld

Aside from the big PS3 Slim announcement last night, Sony also pulled something from the bag we weren't expecting – a digital reader for the PSP. T

Marvel is one of the big partners in the project, with content from other publishers such as Star Wars publishers IDW Publishing and iVerse Media, not to mention smaller outfits as well for bite-sized graphic novels on the go.

There will apparently be hundreds of comics to choose from in the PlayStation Store at launch – both old and new – with more added as the service grows.

You'll be able choose to read page by page or frame by frame, with Autoflow to make reading on you PSP as easy as possible.

When you need a break, simply slip in a digital bookmark and the service will take you back to your place when you relaunch it.

The new digital reader will sit alongside the forthcoming PSN video delivery service also announced yesterday, that will see you able to rent and buy movies to view on your PS3 and PSP.

To get your hands on your favourite comic, you'll simply need to download the digital reader from PSN when it's released in December, and then you'll be set to start downloading your comics of choice over any wireless connection.
