Not all HD-ready TVs are created equal and right now that's causing a small headache for Sony.It seems some older specimens will only support 1080i (interlaced) pictures. The PS3, on the other hand, only chucks out the progressive 720p and 1080p variety. It's not a problem for most HD-ready tellies that switch effortlessly between 720p and 1080i modes, nor for those lucky soles that have superlative 1080p supporting goggle boxes. No it's just those over keen fools who bought their sets in the early days and now find themselves with an attractive ornament that'll receive hi-def broadcasts but won't play PS3 in HD.Sony's promising a solution that'll hopefully be in place by the time the UK launch eventually rolls by. In the meantime, check your telly.
