Sony Ericsson has torn the wrappers off a brand new HSDPA phone that can be silenced with a mere wave of your hand. Thanks to the T707's gesture controls, you can snooze the alarm or dismiss an unwanted call by moving your mitt over the screen.

It also boasts a light effect that leaps into life when the phone rings. You can set a different colour to each of your friends, too, which allows you to see who's calling without even looking at the screen. And of course silence the call with a chop of your palm if you don't fancy speaking to them.

The clamshell handset also sports a 3.2-megapixel camera with photo fix technology and a music player with the Mega Bass and Track ID features found on Walkman phones. There's stereo Bluetooth for wire-free headphones too.

Look out for the T707 in the shops in the coming weeks, and it'll probably be available for free on certain contracts.
