The crowds over on the Sony Ericsson stand showed no signs of thinning as the day wore on, quite the opposite in fact. The Xperia X1 has caused the biggest fuss with Sony Ericsson stand staff treating it like a gold-plated unicorn turd that can bring about world peace.
I wasn't allowed to even touch one of the three demo models on show and the other two were locked in a perspex box. Did someone say 'over-protective'? Still, that did mean I got more hands-on time with the other new handsets, specifically the G900, a touchscreen phone with plenty to shout about. It's another 5MP snapper but this one borrows a neat trick from Sony's T200 digi compact – it uses the touchscreen for focusing. All you do is touch where you want the focus point to be and the phone does the rest. Cool, eh?
