Sony Ericsson has announced it's releasing a new handset, the G502. Aiming to bring mobile web to the masses, it's essentially a dumbed down, er, smartphone.

3G and HSDPA are the order of the day, and Sony Ericsson are aiming this mobile at people who want to stay connected, but don't need all the business shenanigans that come with a smartphone.

With this in mind, there's a simple wizard for hooking up your webmail account, or you can get push email, BlackBerry style, with their Exchange ActiveSync application.

It also comes packing Google Maps, and there's a GPS bolt-on for finding your way down the shops.

Would you buy this over a full-blown smartphone? Let us know in the comments section below.
