The Sono Zoneplayer S5 allows you to access all your music streamed wirelessly from iTunes on your computer, as well as thousands of internet radio shows and podcasts, and computer-free access to music services like Last.fm and Napster.
If this wasn’t enough, the S5 also has an analogue audio input that allows you to hook up an external audio source such as your iPod or CD player for even more music.
As for controlling what you’re listening to, if you don’t have the Sonos Controller 200, you can use your iPhone or iPod touch with the free Sonos Controller app from the App Store instead. This will allow you to search for songs and stations, choose the music and control the volume across all the Zoneplayers in your house.
As for the built-in speakers, there’s a 5-driver speaker system made up of two tweeters, two mid-range drivers and a subwoofer each powered by a dedicated digital amplifier so you’ll get top room-filling sound.
As is one of the big selling points of Zoneplayers, you can hook up several S5s (or other Zoneplayers for that matter) across a number of rooms to have the same music playing all over the house – or mix it up with different songs if you fancy.
The S5 will hit shelves on 10 November for £349. Let us know what you think below and be sure to check out our top 10 streaming devices to see how it sizes up.
