Smartphone accessories get modular (and clever) with Zolo

This range of accessories tidies up your life with magnets

Another smartphone battery pack? I'll only lose it… That's where you're wrong. Zolo is a range of smartphone peripherals that fixes all the niggling little problems that come with phone ownership: tangled cables, dangling battery packs, that sort of thing.

How does it do that, then? Simple: magnets. The Zolo range of accessories can be clipped together at will using magnets; they also help to keep cables tidy and tucked away. The core of the range is a selection of battery packs, cables and tough cases for your smartphone or tablet.

How does that help me? The cable wraps around the battery pack and sticks to it using magnets in both connectors, avoiding tangles and rummaging around in your bag to find it. And when you're charging up your phone, the battery pack clips onto the phone case so that you can charge and talk at the same time. If you want to use Zolo with a longer cable, or an iPhone Lightning cable, there's a set of magnetic cable clips that snap onto both ends of your cable.

What sort of kit is in the range? There are tough cases for the iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S5, iPad mini and iPad Air. There's also a selection of battery packs; the 1x, 2x, and 4x, which refers to the amount of full charges they hold. The range also includes a fold-flat wall charger, a car mount, a travel stand and a car charger. Zolo's also taking votes from backers on Indiegogo to add further cases to the range – currently, backers are being asked to choose between the Nexus 5 and HTC One (M8).

Ah, it's another crowdfunded doohickey… Yup – US$15 will net you the power pack and cable, US$20 will get you a case and 1x power pack. If you really want to shell out (and you're feeling optimistic about the company's prospects), you can drop US$1,000 and get free Zolo products for life.
