Skype for Mac adds HD video calls and Lion support

Mac users get fuzz-free, warts'n'all video calls

As if getting Skype for iPad and a horde of Android phones wasn't enough, now Mac OS users can join the – until now – smug PC owners enjoying crisp HD video calling with Skype 5.3. If you have a built-in HD FaceTime camera on the latest batch of iMac or MacBook Pro models you're good to go, otherwise you'll need to pick up an external HD camera. To receive clear HD video calls, Skype recommends that you'll need an upload/download speed of 1.5Mbps.

The new update also adds feature support for Mac OS X Lion and a few extra user interface tweaks.
