Pipping Philips to the DECT/Skype combo post, RTX has gone and launched a dual home phone handset ahead of the Dutch master. As well as standard old DECT, the DualPhone hooks up to any broadband router and takes Skype calls, without having to have the computer switched on. Free calls to online contacts are just a button push away, as are Skype Out calls to numbers stored in the phone book. Then for 0800 numbers or cheapo local calls just switch back to DECT and use the landline. Just like Philips' soon-to-be-launched dog ‘n’ bone, it'll receive calls from both as well.Although neither will go roaming outside the 300m range of their base stations, this one is a smidgen cheaper than Belkin or Netgear's roam free Wi-Fi sets, and includes that DECT home phone to boot. Mmm, multi-taskalicious.
