With Play TV hampered by DRM and delays to its 1080i recording, it's not been a great week for trusty hi–def. But alas, Sky has just rocked up with a string of new HD channels to tide you over until you get bored of paying to watch TV flicks in eyeball stroking 1080p.Murdoch and co have announced seven new HD channels to add to its list of sports and arts channels that have already got the treatment. Six of them are movie channels and will be simulcast alongside their weedy standard–def siblings. They include Family, Drama, Action/Thriller, Sci–Fi, Modern Greats and Comedy. On top of that there'll be Sky Real Lives HD. Because seeing Half Ton Mom on regular telly isn't disturbing enough, is it?The new channels come as Sky slashes the cost of HD and plans a new EPG which our very own Mark Wilson took a look at earlier in the summer.
