Sky Go Android app launches in February

The Android Market develops a swagger as Sky Sports, ESPN, Sky News and Sky Movies promise to stream to your Galaxy S or HTC Desire

Sky Go – the Sky TV app previously available only on iPhone and iPad – will launch on Android before February is out.

The app, for Sky’s TV customers, brings Sky Sports channels, ESPN, Sky News and 11 Sky Movies channels to selected Android smartphones before the end of February, plus Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts 1. Sky Sports F1 joins the streaming party in March.

It’s tough love for tablet users, though. The app is limited to HTC handsets (including the Desire S, Desire HD, Incredible S and Sensation) and Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy S II. Perhaps we can add a Galaxy Tab 11.6 Sky Go rumour to our wish list for Mobile World Congress 2012?
