Siri has a new friend, the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD

Plantronics has unveiled the world’s first headset that knows when it's on your lughole

Siri is about to cause a vocal revolution in the phone world and Plantronics is backing it with the Voyager Pro HD – which recognises when you put it on your ear.

The Bluetooth handsfree has a sensor that detects your cheek and automatically switches from handset to headset when you put it on. It’s one of those things that make you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner, genius.

The Voyager Pro HD also packs A2DP support meaning you can listen to music on it; supports Vocalyst for voice controls; uses Instant meeting to let you join conference calls at the touch of a button and uses MyHeadset tech to instantly pair to an Android device.

All that and it’ll set you back £90. Apple is yet to confirm if the Voyager Pro HD will work fully with Siri, but we'll let you know for certain on Friday when we test our iPhone 4S.
