Shure isn't exactly renowned for offering cheap headphones. Their top quality kit is normally reserved for credit crunch–immune rocks stars and audiophiles with easy access to dodgy credit.

But not any more. Today Shure has weighed in with the super affordable SE102 sound isolating ear buds, that are sure to give your tunes a heft when you slap them into your iPod or your blower.

They cost £52.99. More than  your average tat found in record stores, but sure (ahem) to last a lifetime and sound the absolute business. Basically, Shure reckons that bundled buds mean folks aren't getting the best out of their MP3 players, and we're not going to disagree. As well as the headphones, you get interchangeable cables and a pouch for storing them to boot.

They're out now in HMV, so best toddle off and spend this week's food budget on the. They'll make the new Mogwai album sound even more awesome, promise.
