Having played with what seems like the seventeenth Walkman phone of the year, we were gagging for some music mobile diversity. Well, now we’ve got it, thanks to this scroll-wheel equipped, music-scratching, 3G beaut from LG.
The U400, available exclusively on 3, is a multi-talented young upstart with some innovative touches. The first thing to note is its tribute to the iPod, a scroll-wheel, which, aside from letting you fly through contacts, lets you scratch music and add percussive sound effects.
Sure, you’ll probably only try the feature twice, but considering Apple’s navigation system has been scientifically proven as perfect, it goes down as a killer feature in our book.
Another big bonus is the support for A2DP Bluetooth, which means you can avoid nagging wires and pair it with some wireless cans like the Stuff Hot Buy Plantronics Pulsar 590As.
The rest of its CV should worry Sony Ericsson’s W810i too – there’s a 2MP camera, microSD slot, access to all of 3’s multimedia content and, finally, a touch of the marvellous Chocolate phone’s glossy styling. Look out for a hands-on soon.
